Nokia 700 review on OS, interface, multimedia and Ovi support

As already written in previous review articles, the use of Symbian Belle feels quite different. In terms of performance, Belle is more stable. compared to Symbian^3 or Symbian Anna. Therefore, this Symbian version can already compete with Android or iOS. Especially with the notification panel. However, Nokia does not consider in detail the ability of the camera. Fortunately, this phone is capable of recording HD-quality video.

Operating System and Interface

Like his brother the Nokia 701, this phone is already using Symbian Belle OS. Belle is the newest operating system from Nokia that developed between the combination of Symbian^3 and Anna. With capable processors to make the OS's performance is good enough and better than previous phones that use the previous OS.

Belle has more attractive homescreen and menu, in addition any applications have been updated and beautifying on the whole icon, so that better meet the aesthetic needs. Belle had six on the homescreen widget can be added and subtracted. The difference with previous homescreen is in Belle could use a different wallpaper on each homescreen.

Belle added a pull-down status notification at the top of the screen, this panel we've seen in Android or on i0S 5. As in the previous OS to use this feature, the panel is able to provide notification and information or activation status of mobile data, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Silent mode.

In Symbian Belle, Nokia adds panel-like notifications on Android or Apple i0S. By using pull-down menu system, you can access the activation of mobile data, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Silent mode. The way the view through the homescreen or menu, just move your finger from top to bottom of screen to bring up this panel.

Multimedia

Almost as well as the interface in the previous OS, the Nokia 700 is still introducing new coverflow style interface on the music player, which covers CD data can be shifted to change the song. And support to sort songs in mobile phones. Music player can navigate through the widgets on the homescreen if you save it.

It is also still supported by the equalizer, Loudness and Stereo widening. Unfortunately the sound quality of the Nokia 700 is not better than the Nokia 500 even though the price is more expensive. For the video player capabilities. Nokia was able to play several file formats including: MP4, AVI, WMV, MKV or HD quality video (720p resolution).

Not only that, Nokia also includes several multimedia applications is quite capable in it like a video editor that lets you create video and slideshow video. For other multimedia applications, we can enjoy streaming YouTube, CNN Video, & National Geographic, and Paramount Pictures. Each of them requires an internet connection (via 3G/3.5G or Wi-Fi).

OVI support

Still the same with Anna OS, Symbian Belle also had a social-app that supports two of the most popular Social Networks, Facebook and Twitter. Also with the Ovi Store for downloading and installing applications. Not only that, the owner of the Nokia 700 can also utilize the of Ovi Maps version 3.06 that can be used online or offline, by connection of GPS receiver in it, you'll have no trouble while traveling.
