For you who like photos, will usually require several shots to get the photos are in line with expectations. However, by default the Lumia 520 camera is not supported with the ability to release the shutter in 'Burst' mode like a camera at a premium smartphone, which once could direct snap some photos.

Well, at the Nokia Lumia 520 there is a facility `Lenses' which can be used to get specific applications to maximize the performance of the camera. What is needed here is the Shoot Smart applications are available in typical Nokia app catalog. Here's the tutorial:

  3. Next, go to the camera viewfinder at Shoot Smart.
  4. You can use the camera shutter button, or by touching the screen to start the object photograph snapped. By default, the camera snapped 5 photos at once.

Replace S40, Nokia prepare Meltemi for cheap mobile phones

Nokia feature phone segment seems to be switching from the S40. Latest news from Finland indicate if the vendor is preparing an operating system called the Meltemi to be immersed in a row of cheap mobile phones. Meltemi is mentioned as a Linux-based software platform.

Replace S40, Nokia Prepare for the Meltemi Cheap Mobile Phones This OS is predicted to bring the smartphone-style experience on phones with limited funds. Nokia is not yet officially introduced the Meltemi. But the news that blow revealed that the OS user interface will be something like the Maemo, the Linux OS that has also been used in the Nokia N900, with a different underlying kernel, and be the handiwork of a subset of Nokia’s original Maemo team. That team is likely to include expertise from the people behind Smarterphone OS, the low-cost smartphone platform Nokia acquired midway through last year.

Nokia’s smart devices chief Ilari Nurmi confirmed at Mobile World Congress last week that it had no plans to release devices running Smarterphone, and that the acquisition was more of a talent-grab.

Nurmi also conceded that Nokia needs to make its affordable devices more competitive with the influx of budget Android phones, something the company itself referred to in its latest SEC filing this week. Exactly when we can expect to see Meltemi show up on devices is unclear, though Nokia World 2012 in late Septembet might be a good guess.

Nokia PureView 808 with 41MPx Camera

eView 808 with 41MPx CameraNokia kicked off the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in 2012 with a monster camera-equipped smartphone. Nokia PureView 808, thus its name, presented with a powerful 41-megapixel camera (7728×5354 in 16:9 format, or 7152×5368 in 4:3). Yes, much higher than other smartphone cameras. PureView 808 is intended as a successor to the Nokia N8 is also strong on the side of the camera in his time. The phone uses a technique that Nokia calls over-sampling, to produce crystal clear, noiseless images with an effective resolution of 5 megapixels.

The camera uses a dedicated graphics processing unit to combine algorithmically groups of up to seven pixels to produce one “super” pixel. The GPU processes one billion pixels a second.

In addition the massive over-sampling allows the camera to digitally zoom up to 4x with no loss in quality. Shooting video in full 1080p video allows for 3x zoom, or up to 6x zoom if shot in 720p definition.

The results are, it must be said, very impressive. The quality of image, even in challenging light conditions, is extremely sharp and with crystal clear detail.

The phone itself is no beauty, its quite bulky and feels heavy and rather unbalanced in the hand, and it is running Symbian Belle, its old operating system and not the new Windows Phone. The reason, said a Nokia spokesman, is that building this technology took five years. The spokesman said that the technology would be available in due course on other devices although he wouldn’t be drawn on when.

How many of the phones Nokia realistically expects to sell is not clear. It is a hefty €450 and being a Symbian device may not enhance its popularity outside of the core Symbian fans.

Nokia has pledged to continue to support Symbian up to 2016.

Symbian Belle present in Nokia N8, et al

Nokia shipped 113.5 million units during the fourth quarter of 2011, down from 123.7 million during the same quarter a year ago, IDC analysts said in a Feb. 1 report. Overall, the market grew 6.1 percent year-over-year, moving a total of 427.4 million units during the quarter, up from 2010's 402.8 million. It was better growth than analysts anticipated, though still below the 9.3 percent growth logged a year earlier.

"Nokia has been quick to adjust its retail experience, customer engagement and hardware bug fixes," IDC reported. "At the same time, the increased focus on the Lumia, combined with changing market conditions in key markets, has prompted Nokia to change its strategy on Symbian smartphones. Fewer Symbian devices will be sold in 2012. Still, Nokia's broad distribution around the world and manufacturing capabilities make it a serious contender to maintain its leadership position.

Nokia Lumia 900, 4G LTE with Mango

Coincide in the International Consumer Electronics Show 2012, Nokia officially introduced the Nokia Lumia 900. Latest gadgets, which has brought the platform Windows Phone 7.5 aka Mango.

Nokia Lumia 900, 4G LTE with Mango
Display design is not much different with Nokia Lumia 800. This smartphone screen size 4.3-inch Super AMOLED WVGA (480 x 800 pixels), which supported ClearBlack Display technology. Processor 1.4 GHz single-core, plus 16GB of storage and 512 MB of RAM.

This Smartphone is also equipped with Nokia navigation app called Drive, ESPN sports application, and a special version of the CNN iReport application. Not only HSDPA and HSUPA channels owned by Nokia Lumia 900. The phone also equip themselves with the 4G LTE technology (Long Term Evolution) which could bring the user action until the super fast cruising speed of 50 Mbps.

Nokia Lumia 900, 4G LTE with Mango
The Lumia 900 is on the big side, with a 4.3-inch screen. It has a solid-feeling plastic body, though it’s designed and cut in such a way that using brushed metal would have gone a long way to making it feel less cheap. The curved design is comfortable to hold, but the surface of the plastic body looks a little bulgy around the edges of the screen.

A 1.4GHz processor and 512MB of RAM power the Lumia 900, about the same specs as the first HTC Titan. During use, we found the Windows Phone OS was much faster overall, scrolling and executing transitions more quickly and smoothly. We had lamented the slowish transitions on the HTC Titan, which has a 1.5GHz processor, so we're happy to find out that rate-limiting factor isn't the OS.
Nokia Lumia 900, 4G LTE with Mango

The volume rocker on the phone is located above the sleep button; the camera button is towards the bottom on the right side. Almost every phone in recent memory places the sleep button at or near the top, so seeing a phone with one is the middle feels like looking at a world map with Australia in the Atlantic Ocean.

Vance Kim, the Nokia marketing campaign manager, told this design choice is meant to be more handed-ness agnostic than higher-up sleep buttons, and we quickly saw this was true: either the thumb of the right hand or forefinger of the left hand can hit that button easily, and with more leverage than one located at the top. The remaining issue is accidental presses, which we couldn't get a read on during our short time with the phone. All these buttons are easier to press and have more depth and feedback than those of the HTC Titan.

The Lumia 900's AMOLED display was not the best screen we saw at the show, but the level of color and detail was fine. The phone has an 8-megapixel camera on the back that neither takes phenomenal photos nor is particularly fast. There's also a front-facing camera for video chat.

In our eyes, the biggest red flag, relatively speaking, on the Lumia 900's spec sheet is the battery life: Nokia estimates the phone's 1830mAh battery (a generous size for a smartphone) will get up to 7 hours of 3G talk time and 6.5 hours of video. While the phone is undoubtedly faster than other Windows Phone devices we've tried, this suggests that it's operating at too high a level for a decent battery life.

While we like the Windows Phone OS and the Lumia 900's particular talent for smooth and speedy navigation, most of the other features make us hope Nokia targets the Lumia 900 as a really good mid-range phone, rather than trying to pass it off as a premium handset. The Lumia 900 and 800 are set to launch in March, for as-yet-unannounced prices.

Nokia N9, Simple and Stylish

Nokia N9, Simple and StylishSince its introduction in June, this smartphone is enough to attract attention. Besides being based Meego, simple appearance clad in bright colors are tempting. This is her appearance. N9 form almost perfectly rectangular. There is no arch at each corner to make the phone feel 'very box' when gripped. Meanwhile, the appearance of a fashionable casing to attract anyone who is looking at this smartphone.

Nokia was deliberately packaged to look sassy and fashionable with a choice of black, magenta (pink) and cyan. Surface on the front of the phone is fully visible screen so that only a small portion edges. Not surprisingly, Nokia, dubbed the N9 as an all screen smartphone.

Nokia N9, Simple and StylishEase presented by Nokia in three views Home View, the main menu, notification - for email, SMS, incoming and outgoing calls - and featuring multitasking features or applications that are being opened.

To move between the Home View, simply rub a finger to the left and right. Its AMOLED screen somewhat sensitive to touch, a shift in the Home View feels smooth, no lag. First time to operate, the user may be confused with the absence of a virtual button 'back'. Well, to return to the previous menu, use the navigation sweep from bottom to top.

The only other thing on the screen is a VGA front camera. Its tiny size and it lies almost in the bottom right corner to make difficult to recognize its existence.

When finished exploring the front, the next search is to the right side of the phone. Here we finally discovered the existence of a button. There are two silver buttons, which are placed at the top, which serves as the volume settings. Beneath it, a smaller, used to 'wake' the phone from the standby condition.

Nokia N9, Simple and Stylish
At the bottom of the phone, there are speakers. Nokia claims the N9 as the world's first smartphone equipped with Dolby Digital Plus and full-process technology Dolby Headphone. The advantage that makes the speakers deliver surround sound experience even when used with any headphones. When tested, the resulting sound is quite good. Even at full volume, not sounding hoarse.

Nokia N9, Simple and Stylish

Search was ended at the back, where the camera is placed. Compared to other smartphones in general who put the back camera on the left or right, the position of the camera 8 MP is more centralized. The point was in the middle of the back of the phone body.

Nokia N9, Simple and Stylish
The advantage, this position makes it easy to focus shots when shooting. But because of this position, the camera easily dirty hands touched when gripped or vulnerable to damage when being laid.

Nokia 700 review on OS, interface, multimedia and Ovi support

As already written in previous review articles, the use of Symbian Belle feels quite different. In terms of performance, Belle is more stable. compared to Symbian^3 or Symbian Anna. Therefore, this Symbian version can already compete with Android or iOS. Especially with the notification panel. However, Nokia does not consider in detail the ability of the camera. Fortunately, this phone is capable of recording HD-quality video.

Operating System and Interface

Like his brother the Nokia 701, this phone is already using Symbian Belle OS. Belle is the newest operating system from Nokia that developed between the combination of Symbian^3 and Anna. With capable processors to make the OS's performance is good enough and better than previous phones that use the previous OS.

Belle has more attractive homescreen and menu, in addition any applications have been updated and beautifying on the whole icon, so that better meet the aesthetic needs. Belle had six on the homescreen widget can be added and subtracted. The difference with previous homescreen is in Belle could use a different wallpaper on each homescreen.

Nokia 700 review on OS, interface, multimedia and Ovi supportBelle added a pull-down status notification at the top of the screen, this panel we've seen in Android or on i0S 5. As in the previous OS to use this feature, the panel is able to provide notification and information or activation status of mobile data, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Silent mode.

In Symbian Belle, Nokia adds panel-like notifications on Android or Apple i0S. By using pull-down menu system, you can access the activation of mobile data, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Silent mode. The way the view through the homescreen or menu, just move your finger from top to bottom of screen to bring up this panel.

Multimedia

Almost as well as the interface in the previous OS, the Nokia 700 is still introducing new coverflow style interface on the music player, which covers CD data can be shifted to change the song. And support to sort songs in mobile phones. Music player can navigate through the widgets on the homescreen if you save it.

It is also still supported by the equalizer, Loudness and Stereo widening. Unfortunately the sound quality of the Nokia 700 is not better than the Nokia 500 even though the price is more expensive. For the video player capabilities. Nokia was able to play several file formats including: MP4, AVI, WMV, MKV or HD quality video (720p resolution).

Also with the Ovi Store for downloading and installing applications. Nokia 700, more perfect with Symbian Belle

Nokia 700, more perfect with Symbian BelleTogether with the Nokia 701, Nokia 700 is the first phone that uses the Belle operating system. not only that Nokia also makes this phone with environment friendly materials. However, despite the use of easily recyclable materials the design still OK.

Design

Nokia 700 is made of 60% of materials that are environmentally friendly and recyclable. Between plastic and metal composition is fairly balanced, it can be felt when we bring in and hold meaning that its weight is not too heavy or light.

Gorilla Glass screen at the front combined with plastic. While the metal material on the back for extra speakers. Gorilla Glass coating is quite evident because, as we try to scratch the keys on the screen, scratches no imprint on the screen.

Not only that, the screen also uses Clear Black technology that can work perfectly to reduce reflection and improve visibility outdoors. So no problem to use under the sun.

Camera

Differences OS does not mean to change everything, that's being developed by Nokia. This can be seen on camera interface has not changed much. On the left there is a virtual shutter button, the icon switching video modes, and snapshots, while the other side there is a digital zoom that can be hidden.

Nokia has also added a physical shutter button located on the right phone. Thus, taking photos easier such as holding a pocket camera. After taking photos, we can edit directly on the phone through the photo editors application.

As for the video recording mode, we can record HD quality video. Although less focused and less detailed, but the results are quite better than the 500 series. The result is clearly better than the Nokia 500, despite using 5 MPx camera quality as well. The images more focused and capable of delivering crystal clear picture quality. Nokia 700, more perfect with Symbian BelleUnfortunately for close-up look less focused. With the lights flash in a dark room the result can be more bright.

Connection and the Internet

The newest of the Nokia 700 is a connection with NFC support, this device is ready to connect itself with other devices that support NFC. You can also use NFC to connect your phone and play multiplayer games like Angry Birds Magic. Or connect directly to any accessories that support NFC, such as Nokia Play 360° speakers. Just one touch and directly connected to each other.
For other connections are still the same as previous phones such as HSDPA support, Bluetooth and microUSB.

Nokia Gem, allround Touch Screen phone

Nokia builds a concept phone that looks unique and futuristic. Nokia Gem, thus his nickname, is a smartphone that all parts of the body is a touch screen. The touch screen on the Nokia Gem can be operated flexibly around the phone body.
Access an application, turn on the camera and so on can be done easily on the entire screen, not just limited to the front of the screen. Nokia wanted the user can interact with the entire body of the Nokia Gem. This handset is also easily customizable.

Nokia Gem - http://www.hpsblog.com“Now, when you launch an application like the camera, your mobile phone still looks like a mobile phone, but with Gem, when you launch the camera application, the whole phone looks like a camera. It’s the ultimate customizable device. There is no default appearance. If you play a lot of games it will usually resemble a games pad, for example. It’s called Gem because polished precious stones have several sides. Also it’s a concept which is like a raw gem, but it needs to be polished to become a real product,” cited, Senior Design Manager Jarkko Saunamäki, who led the team which created Gem.

Offering increased flexibility in operation, the interesting Nokia device will enable users to type on the keyboard or view text messages and documents from anywhere on the phone, no matter which way it is held. User would not need to decorate their phones with fancy casings or custom-made covers as any picture or photograph of can be chosen to cover the whole phone.

The Nokia Gem phone concept has been launched in sync with the 25th anniversary of the Nokia Research Centre. The unique concept is still in the development stage and is therefore not likely to hit the markets any time soon.

Nokia Asha, targeted to low-end segment

Not to forget the low-end segment, in addition to introducing two new smartphones based on Windows Phone 7, this week Nokia also launched four basic types of phone products. Stylish design and rich social networking experience to be a mainstay in the Nokia Asha 300, 303, 200, and 201, which was exhibited at the Nokia World 2011 event in London, England.

Nokia Asha series
The three phones that Nokia presented require developers to use a special Java programming language to write applications, which technically excludes them from the smartphone category.

The Asha 200 is a touch-screen device with a keyboard housed in a metallic lime green case. The handset, which will sell for €60, works on the 2G networks commonly used in India and parts of southeast Asia. It is a dual-SIM card phone, the third that Nokia has introduced this year.

Nokia will introduce a fourth Asha handset, the Asha 201, a single- SIM-card version of the Asha 200, in early 2012.

Sales of dual SIM-card phones, which allow users in developing economies to choose the least expensive operators for calling and surfing, helped Nokia increase the number of basic phones it sold in the third quarter by 8 percent, which helped offset declines in its smartphone business.

Nokia Asha series
Nokia also unveiled the Asha 300 and Asha 303, two 3G phones in metallic red that it plans to sell in developing and mature markets. The Asha 300, a candybar-shaped handset, will cost €85 and the Asha 303, which has a touch screen keypad phones with a 1 gigahertz processor, is priced at €115.

All three phones run Nokia’s Series 40 operating system, which the company is retaining for its basic lines while dropping its in-house Symbian operating system.

Nokia show off flexible phones that can be bent

What happens if the phone is made of flexible and elastic material like rubber? Is looming, this device will be very flexible so it can be bent.
Well, the phone like this that was recently showcased by Nokia. Do not believe? Nokia calls it a 'kinetic device'. This prototype demonstrated the Finnish vendor, at Nokia World 2011 event in London. Its uniqueness attracted the attention of visitors at the event.

Nokia kinetic device
Gripped with two hands, it would scroll through music collections or photo albums when twisted. Bowing it inward or outward zoomed photos in and out or paused and played music, while tapping the corners panned through photos.

While it was a real computing device with a real OLED display, it's most definitely not a real product anyone could buy today. More firmly in the prototype category was a related flexible device that looked like a slim remote control; it could be controlled with a single hand.

Tapani Jokinen, who began working on the technology about two years ago as part of a Nokia group tasked with creating designs out of earlier-stage research, wouldn't say either when he thinks it'll come to market or how it worked.

But Chris Bower, stationed nearby at Nokia's "Future Lounge," had some ideas. He was showing an experimental apparatus with a bundle of carbon nanotubes in a flexible elastomer medium. The electrical resistance of the nanotubes changes as they're stretched, and measurements of the change let a computer control how a map zoomed in and out. The same approach could be used to control the flexible interface.

Jokinen was reluctant to predict whether it might become as widespread as multitouch user interfaces are today.
