Tracing the excellent features on Nvidia Tegra 3

The latest generation of Nvidia Tegra claimed to have a tremendous performance. In addition to having 4 core processor as the prime mover, this product turned out to have an additional feature of a 'backup' processors for a particular application. Applications that exist today demanding the chip maker to create a powerful processor yet efficient power, for this reason Nvidia tried to achieve through Tegra 3.

The latest generation of the Tegra line has a processor with 4 cores with a performance that is claimed to 5X more than the previous series. But to suppress power consumption, Nvidia equip with an backup processor.

In his written statement, Nvidia explained that backup processors will work only for applications that do not require great strength. For example, for open music, video applications, or when the phone is idle. Whereas when you're in a multitasking or playing 3D games, automatically processors with 4 cores that will work.

The unique technology has been patented under the name Nvidia Variable Symmetric multiprocessing (vSMP), and supposedly will be the new standard Nvidia chips in the future.

Nvidia Tegra 3, scheduled to be mass produced from 2012. The first product that will use this chip is a tablet PC ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Prime.
